A few weeks ago I signed up for the 10km Run4Fun, thinking it would be a good idea to do something active. After signing up I read the fine print only to learn the race was at 8:30 am on a Sunday. Jeroen decided a few days before the race to join; the opportunity to cross the finish line in the Olympic Stadium was too good to pass up.
Almost ten thousand people were registered for the race and the starts were in three phases: preferred runners, middle of the pack and back of the pack. We weren't able to start together, but after crossing the finish line we took our bows to the few spectators in the stadium and held our medals high :)
You would think running so early in the morning would beat the heat, but it was broiling in the sun! We didn't take a camera with us, so here are a couple pictures from the website: start block, Jeroen's time, two Dutchies in action and a certificate you receive. (Sorry for the logo's, we didn't feel like buying the commemorative versions)
