After a month in New Zealand, Carla and Andre stopped over in Sydney to visit us for a week. What a great week! We spent a weekend in the Blue Mountains following the trails through the eucalyptus and gum trees and exploring limestone caves. We were able to introduce them to some of our favourite spots in the city including the cafe on the corner where we have earned our title as 'regulars' and shown them some of the beautiful seaside walks along the coast. We took them to the sushi train (if you've never tried it, it's a conveyor belt whizzing a variety of sushi past you. Nutricious and delicious!), and to various sights in the city. We ended the week with a trip to the Opera House for the Marriage of Figaro. After an amazing performance and two packed suitcases later we had to wave goodbye. Thank you for your visit!
We've been quite busy with work lately and the torrential rain has kept us indoors the past couple weekends. I started a new project for an airline, the office is at the jet base, between the hangers. I can tell you all about aircraft maintenance now, I know you're dying to hear about auxilary power units and the engine sub-assembly ;) Jeroen is finishing up another term of saxaphone lessons and has been kicking ass and taking names in soccer (yes, I have to say it, the kettle bell workout actually works).
This Easter weekend we get 5 days off. We've rented a camper and are will make our way up to Brisbane. We'll definitely write about our first adventure outside of Sydney since arriving in Sydney...promise!
